Teutschenthal, Germany, was the destination for the Wilvo Yamaha MXGP outfit this past weekend. Jeremy Seewer was the sole rider beneath the awning once again, but was raring to head out onto a circuit that he has experienced success on in the past.
Proceedings kicked off with qualifying on Saturday, as per usual, which was a positive exercise for Jeremy Seewer. Although many guys commented that the circuit was bland and difficult to gain ground on, Seewer excelled and charged from the lower half of the top ten to sixth at the chequered flag. The result was a great boost and there were many positives to take into the motos, which were run in front of 30,000 fans on Sunday.
The first MXGP encounter was a tense affair, as Jeremy Seewer was locked in a battle for the duration. A mistake towards the end cost him a position inside of the top ten, unfortunately, but he still ended eleventh at the chequered flag and added some impressive points to his championship total. Seewer then used all of the power within his YZ450F to grab a superb start in the second moto, but a mistake early on left him on the cusp of the top fifteen and with a significant amount of work to do. Tenth place was the position that he eventually secured in the moto and overall classification.
A weekend off will now be enjoyed by those at Wilvo Yamaha MXGP, before the focus shifts to the ninth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Great Britain. Shaun Simpson is expected to return at that event too.
Jeremy Seewer: “This weekend I felt very positive coming into it. I had a great Saturday and felt good, but then on Sunday I could not get the motos together. I had crashes in both races, stalled the bike on the first lap of the second race and could not get it started immediately. I still finished tenth overall, but expected a lot more. I can see the positives though; the riding was really good and I know where I have to improve.”
