Chapter 2025 – a history-making MXGP season, leaving its mark in time

In racing, so much comes down to the right timing. Mostly, it is about chasing thousandths of a second on track, but sometimes it is also about being patient, waiting for the perfect opportunity to make it happen – all while trying to understand, improve, and put it all together. After a first year of learning for the new Fantic Factory Racing MXGP project, the 2025 season was the time to shine.

Already at round 2 of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Cozar, Spain, the wait was over and the first mission was completed – for the first time ever, Fantic made the MXGP podium, and not just with one, but straight away with two riders. Team leader Glenn Coldenhoff and new addition Andrea Bonacorsi made history for the Italian brand by finishing second and third overall, as a Spanish mudfest turned into a Fantic Factory Racing MXGP party.

What felt like a dream soon turned into an exciting habit, as “The Hoff” enjoyed his best-ever start to a season with back-to-back podiums on Italian soil – first in the deep sands of Riola Sardo and then on the hard-pack track of Arco di Trento.

Shortly after the halfway point of the season, Coldenhoff made history once again with a maiden MXGP race win for Fantic in Matterley Basin, Great Britain, and he also added another trophy to his already impressive collection. Further podium visits in Loket, Czech Republic, and on home soil in Arnhem, alongside a total of twelve top-5 overall results, put the experienced Dutchman in an incredible third place in the final championship standings.

Andrea Bonacorsi came close to adding to his podium tally more than once, but ended up just shy of the top 3 on several occasions. He wrapped up his first full MXGP campaign in eighth place in the standings, showing that, at just 22 years of age, “Bona” is one of the most exciting prospects in the premier class. Time is on his side.

Talking about timing, it wasn’t quite meant to be for the third man of the Fantic Factory Racing MXGP trio, Brian Bogers. Just when he seemed to be in the right place at the right time – running third in yet another rain-soaked GP of Portugal – he dislocated his shoulder in an unlucky incident. When it popped back in, he refused to retire. He picked up his bike and finished the race. That says it all about a rider’s mindset. Brian always showed up and gave his valuable contribution to the team.

A team that managed to place all three Fantic XXF 450s inside the top 6 in the second MXGP race at home in The Netherlands – marking one of the most special Grands Prix of an unforgettable season. A year highlighted by a total of seven podiums, eight holeshot awards, a historic race win, and countless memories and adventures across 20 GPs, spanning 17 countries and four continents. Picking up the bronze medal all the way down under in Australia made the dream come true. Mission accomplished. A (bronze) mark left in time.

As the saying goes, there is a time for everything – and for the ambitious team led by Louis Vosters, the time has come to open a new chapter in its success story. Time never stands still, and to keep up with it, we must keep moving forward. Yet some achievements remain timeless, and the memories we have created will stay with us forever. As of now Louis Vosters will run the Ducati Factory MXGP team.

So let’s take a moment to celebrate and to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of this fantastic journey – before the pursuit of those thousandths of a second begins all over again.
