Chapter 2024, A New Beginning: Fantic Factory Racing MXGP
In racing, we often focus on lap times, gaps, result sheets and points tallies, but numbers don’t always tell the full story. As the 2024 season marked the beginning of a fresh chapter for the renowned squad led by Louis Vosters, joining forces with a new manufacturer to become the official Fantic Factory Racing MXGP team, we’d like to take a moment to look beyond the stats.
They say you have to trust the magic of new beginnings. In Fantic’s first year back in the premier class of the FIM Motocross World Championship, spanning 20 rounds across 15 countries and 3 continents, we got to know and learn from each other, gelled as a team, and pushed forward together.
To succeed at the pinnacle of the sport, every piece of the puzzle needs to fall perfectly into place. We have been working tirelessly on this, and there are few riders more suited to bring it all together than Glenn Coldenhoff, thanks to his exemplary professionalism, valuable experience, and deep knowledge of the class and the team. The day he won the qualifying race on home soil at the MXGP of The Netherlands in Arnhem, leading from start to finish, will forever have a special place in our memories and the history books. For the first time ever, Fantic took the checkered flag first in the MXGP class. The pure emotion of “The Hoff” and the whole team spoke volumes.
It’s moments like these that fuel our passion and drive us to push ourselves to the limit every day, chasing the podium that Fantic Factory Racing MXGP narrowly missed out on in 2024 on more than one occasion. Fourth overall was Coldenhoff’s season-best result, as he achieved a remarkable sixth in the championship standings.
Speaking of new beginnings, Brian Bogers joined the squad late in March. From the brink of retirement, his return to the highly competitive MXGP class was nothing short of impressive. Demonstrating his sheer determination and strong mindset, he came close to a podium finish in a Portuguese mudfest, as heavy rain added to the challenges on a regular basis during the 2024 season.
Bogers continued to build his form and confidence, even leading for several laps in the MXGP qualifying race in Uddevalla, Sweden. A hard crash the following day halted his momentum abruptly. Luckily, he escaped serious injury, though the aftermath of the incident impacted his performance in the latter stages of the season. He still finished 11th in the final championship standings. It will be exciting to see what 2025 holds for “BB189,” especially with the benefit of a full winter preparation alongside the team.
Through the highs and lows of racing at the highest level, every gate drop is another chance to turn goals and dreams into reality. We’ll be ready when it all starts again in 2025, with an even stronger lineup, eager to continue writing the next chapter in our success story.
